MEET OUR FOUNDER

Sand & Wood was founded by Kristyan, a mother, maker and passionate supporter of independent craftsmanship.

As a parent to a neurodivergent son, home has always been more than just a place. It is somewhere that should feel calm, welcoming and comforting. This understanding inspired a journey into creating products that engage the senses and help create moments of peace in our busy lives.

Working around family life, Kristyan began hand-pouring natural wax candles from home using sustainable coconut and rapeseed wax, carefully selecting fragrances to create beautiful sensory experiences. Over time, that passion evolved into Sand & Wood — a place where handcrafted products sit alongside carefully chosen homewares and the work of talented local artists and makers.

Today, supporting small businesses, celebrating creativity and offering customers something a little different remain at the heart of everything we do.
